These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Breadcrumb (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), available at breadcrmb.academy. By creating an account or using Breadcrumb, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Breadcrumb is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian to use the Service, and you represent that you have obtained it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the email below and we will take steps to delete it.
Breadcrumb helps users break large goals ("Big Wins") into small, actionable steps ("micro-steps") and run timed focus sessions to build study momentum. The Service is provided on an "as available" basis and may change, expand, or be discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without notice.
Breadcrumb is currently offered free of charge for students. If we introduce paid plans or features in the future, we will update these Terms and provide notice before any charges apply.
You need an account to use Breadcrumb's core features. Account creation and login are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for:
Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
"Your Content" means the goals, micro-steps, notes, links, and any other material you enter into Breadcrumb. You retain ownership of Your Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
Breadcrumb does not currently include shared or social features — Your Content is private to your account and is not shown to other users.
You are solely responsible for Your Content, including any external links you paste into the app (for example, links to Google Docs, PDFs, Notion pages, or Canvas). Breadcrumb does not review, endorse, or control the destination of those links and is not responsible for their content, availability, or security.
When using Breadcrumb, you agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
Breadcrumb relies on third-party providers to operate, including Clerk (authentication), Google Firebase (data storage), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of Breadcrumb is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or data handling by third-party providers that are outside our reasonable control.
The Service, including its design, features, branding, and underlying code, is owned by Breadcrumb or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Service as intended, these Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand assets.
Breadcrumb is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional academic, medical, or mental health advice. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will improve your grades, productivity, or outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Breadcrumb and its creator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, for most users, is $0, as the Service is currently free).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You may stop using Breadcrumb and permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Danger Zone → "Delete Account Permanently"), or by contacting us if you're unable to access the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or at our discretion, with or without notice, particularly to protect the security or integrity of the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease; certain provisions of these Terms (including Sections 7–9 and 12–13) will survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you have a concern or dispute regarding Breadcrumb, please contact us first at the email below so we can try to resolve it directly.
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at: breadcrumbacademy@gmail.com
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Breadcrumb regarding the Service.
